
Borderlands Foundation Ukraine is establishing the Center for Traumatic Stress – the first systematic platform in Ukraine to help military personnel and their families overcome the effects of PTSD.


As of 2024, 3.5-6 million veterans are registered 57% of veterans need psychological support due to PTSD and related disorders
14% increase in domestic violence in 2024 as a consequence of war-related trauma
69,000 women in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with 48,000 active service women
Over 5,500 women on the front lines, with increased risk of psychological and physical trauma
53% of women veterans need specialized psychological assistance
Lack of programs adapted to the needs of military women (reproductive health, consequences of gender-based violence, returning to family and society)
Military personnel return to a society unprepared for their integration
Shortage of trained psychologists, medical staff, and social workers to support veterans
Absence of psychological literacy programs for the civilian population

The Center will serve as a platform for the development of psychotherapy and rehabilitation. In collaboration with the University of Texas and international research institutions, we are implementing advanced methods for treating PTSD.

Volunteers and community activists

Over 40 successful rehabilitation sessions conducted
Covers psychological, physical, and social adaptation
Provides group and individual therapy for veterans

Crisis counseling for women veterans and military families
